Two years back Justice Lodha committee requested BCCI to include the North Eastern State in Domestic Circuit. After this the North Eastern teams took their first step in Domestic Tournaments viz-Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare ,Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy etc. In a midst, professionals of the game are giving hard core training to the youths of these teams.

Cricket is booming in the the North Eastern States. The City of Guwahti has already got the hosting of two games of Rajasthan Royals.

Earlier these teams faced many problems to create a pool of players, but professionals from other states came up as solution. The motive behind this is to travel around the country to these states and develop cricket & Sporting environment.

This year Rahul Dalal, a 28 year old from Arunachal Pradesh became the highest run scorer of the season. He almost broke the record of the Wizard VVS Laxman. He scored a total of 1340 runs in 9 matches with 4 centuries and 5 half centuries. In 1999-00 season VVS Laxman being at the pinnacle scored 1415 runs.

Mizoram’s Tanuvar Kohli secured second place in the list. He has also played for India under-19 team. This batsman who hails from Punjab scored 998 runs in 9 matches with 3 magnificent hundreds, his highest being 307 not out.

The fourth on the points table of the plate group, Meghalaya’s Punit Bisht was the third highest run getter of this Season. 33 Year old Punit ,earlier had played for Delhi. He scored only 22 less than Kohli, 976 runs with two tons.

Sanjay Yadav hails from UP, has played for Tamil Nadu, and presently with Meghalaya.

UP boy Sanjay Yadav became the second highest wicket taker for this season of Ranji Trophy, after Jaydev Unadkat. Before shifting to Meghalaya, he had played for Tamil Nadu. He successfully took 55 wickets in 9 games. In this list 5th position was secured by Manishankar Murasingh from Tripura, he took a total of S49 wickets in 9 games he played.
