Day three of Bangladesh-Pakistan Test in Dhaka washed out

The day 3 of the second test between Pakistan and Bangladesh has been washed out without a single ball being bowled due to persistent rain at the Sher-E Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Monday. Due to the effects of Jawad cyclone, the covers are not coming off but the forecast for the day 4 is quite joyful . The play is expected to resume on time. On day 2 only 6.2 overs were bowled. Pakistan is on 188 for the loss of 2 wickets.

Fifth Ashes Test moved from Perth over Western Australia’s COVID-19 restrictions

The western Australia cricket has announced that they will not host the fifth Ashes test match at the WACA in Perth due to border restrictions.  The schedule remains same for the Ashes series . The changed venue has not been decided yet . Hobart and Melbourne are the contenders to host the fifth Ashes test. The test matches will be played under lights and the broadcasting will be done in the evening.  Hobart is slight favourite to host the fifth test over Melbourne because MCG is going to host the 2nd Ashes test. Hobart has not hosted a single test match since 2016.

Nicholas Pooran, Shai Hope to lead West Indies in Pakistan, after Pollard ruled out

Kieron Pollard has been ruled out of the T20 and ODI series against Pakistan. Pollard will not be the part of the West Indian squad which will travel to Pakistan next week for the white ball series. He failed to recover from the hamstring injury he picked up during the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Nicholas Pooran is all set to captain be T20 side while Shai hope will lead the ODI team. Rovman Powell will replace Pollard in the T20 side while Devon Thomas in the ODIs. Shai Hope will lead the side for the first time in his carrer. Jason Holdee , Evin Lewis, Andre Russell and Shimron Hetymer have been excluded from both the squads.

India won the second test against New Zealand by 372 runs. India bowled out Kiwis for just 167 runs within the first hour on the day 4 in the second innings, all thanks to the spin duo of Ashwin and Jayant Yadav. This is the biggest win for India in terms of runs. India also won the series by 1-0. It took only 7 overs to get the the first wicket on day 4 and the Kiwis were bowled out in 11.2 overs. R Ashwin was adjusted the man of the series for his all round performance.
