Sydney Thunder started their BBL campaign, with a comfortable 7-wicket win over the Brisbane Heat. Sydney Thunder opted to bowl, which proved to be the right call for them as they got a good start in form of Max Bryant’s wicket. After Chris Lynn’s wicket Ben Duckett and Sam Heazlett built a partnership to survive a possible collapse. The two batters went added 83 runs in 11 overs, before Daniel Sams & Gurinder Sandhu run through their middle order.

Sam Heazlett was scored a 37-ball 42, and Ben Duckett scored 46 off 35 ball to lose their wickets to Daniel Sams and Gurinder Sandhu respectively.
