Former Indian cricket team batsman Mohd. Kaif heaped praise on Sanju Samson and believes that the batsman was all set to play in the T20I World Cup, but he was not selected in the squad for the mega event.
According to Kaif, the Indian team missed a trick by not selecting the Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman in the World Cup squad. Sanju Samson was in excellent touch during the T20I series against South Africa at home just before the T20I World Cup 2022.
The Indian team was knocked out of the T20I World Cup 2022 after their 10-wicket defeat at the hands of England in the semi-finals. Kaif said that Sanju Samson was ready for this World Cup but he was not selected which was a big mistake.
Kaif while talking to Sportskeeda said that one player was all set but was not selected for the World Cup. He said that Sanju Samson was ready for the number 5 position and he has been playing in IPL for many years and is leading Rajasthan Royals. He also led his team in the finals of the year 2022.
According to Kaif, Sanju Samson is such a batsman who plays spinners well and has the ability to hit fours and sixes on his balls. Samson played a match-winning inning against the West Indies and when the team’s two-three wickets fall, they come and attack.
He can play all types of bowlers well and he was well prepared for the World Cup, but he was not picked in the team and that was a big mistake. Let us tell you that at this time Sanju Samson is with Team India on New Zealand tour.
