Here’s the List Of Highest Bids of each IPL Auctions from IPL-2008 to IPL-2021
2008 – MS Dhoni (CSK) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2008
MS Dhoni secured the highest bid for the 2008 season with amount of rupees 6 crore. Under his captaincy India won the T20 world cup in 2007, an year before the auction. He led Chennai Super Kings(CSK) franchise to the final of the inaugural season of the IPL. Under his captaincy CSK has won 4 IPL titles, that is second most after Mumbai Indians(MI).
2009 – Andrew Flintoff ( CSK ) and Kevin Pietersen (RCB) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2009
Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen, the two pillars of the England Cricket across the formats of the game became the most expensive buys for the 2009 season. They earned 7.35 crores approximately. Flintoff only manage to play 3 games as he suffered an injury. While Kevin Pietersen became the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise but only played 6 games for the team before flying back to England to play for his country.
2010 – Shane Bond (KKR) and Kieron Pollard (MI) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2010
Kieron Pollard came into the auction as one of the hottest picks, due to his explosive performances in the Champions League T20 in the year 2009. While Shane Bond made his International comeback in the year 2009 after a series of injuries . They both earned 3.4 crores in the auction.

2011 – Gautam Gambhir (KKR) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2011
The 2011 witnessed the highest paid in double figures. Gautam Gambhir became the the first player to receive a bid in double figures with the amount approximately 1.5 crores by the Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) franchise. Under his captaincy the KKR team clinched two IPL titles under their belt -2012 and 2014.
2012 – Ravindra Jadeja (CSK) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2012
Ravindra Jadeja had a decent season with the bat for the Kochi Tuskers Kerala but the franchise is termination before the 2012 season force him to enter into the auctions. Ravindra Jadeja secured the deal with Chennai Super Kings(CSK) franchise for 9.72 crores. 10 years down the line Ravindra Jadeja has now become an integral part of the CSK franchise being their 1st Retention ahead of MS Dhoni.
2013 – Glenn Maxwell (Mumbai Indians) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2013
Glenn Maxwell bagged the highest bid in the 2013 edition of the IPL. The Mumbai Indians(MI) franchise secured the services of the the Australian all-rounder for a sum of 5.3 crore rupees. He showed some ruthless setting for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League but turned out to be a massive disappointment for the Mumbai Indians.
2014 – Yuvraj Singh ( RCB) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2014
In 2014 season of the IPL, Yuvraj Singh receive the highest bid in the auction. He was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for whooping 14 crores in the auctions. Yuvraj could only manage to score 376 runs at an average of 34 and ended up as the second highest run scorer for the team.
2015 – Yuvraj Singh (DD) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2015
For the second successive year, Yuvraj Singh received the the highest bid in the auctions. He obtained a sum of rupee 16 cross from the Delhi Daredevils, now Delhi capitals. It proved to be disappointing season for Yuvraj Singh and he ended up scoring 249 runs in 14 games at an average of 19. He was later released by the Franchise.
2016 – Shane Watson (RCB) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2016
Royal Challengers Bangalore bagged the Australian all round for a sum of 9.5 crores for the 2016 IPL season. Shane Watson failed with the bat but picked up 20 wickets in 16 games. After a horrible season ,he was again retained by the franchise.

2017 – Ben Stokes (RPSG) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2017
Rising Pune Supergiants pulled off the highest bid in the auction by taking the English around Ben Stokes for 14.5 crores. Ben Stokes justified his price tag by helping the franchise to reach the finals of the IPL in 2017. Eventually, Ben Stokes was adjusted the man of the tournament for his diamond performances.
2018 – Ben Stokes (RR) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2018
Ben Stokes was back in the auctions for the 2018 season. The English all rounder once again received the highest bid for the season. This time Rajasthan Royals purchase them for the sum of 12.5 crores. He had an average season with the franchise but was retained for the upcoming season.
2019 – Jaydev Unadkat (RR) and Varun Chakravarthy (KXIP) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2019
In this season Jaydev Unadkat and Varun Chakravarthy received the highest bid for a sum of 8.5 crores each for Rajasthan Royals and Kings X1 Punjab respectively. Both the players fail to create an impact in the season. Jaydev Unadkat picked up 10 wickets in 11 games at an average of 40. While Varun Chakravarthy only played one game.
2020 – Pat Cummins (KKR) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2020
Bad comments was picked up for 15.5 crores by the KKR. The number 1 test bowler and the auction with the base price of 2 Crores ,Pat Cummins delivered both with the bat and ball for the team whenever required. He also featured in the 2017 season of the IPL and take the 15 wickets in 12 games.
2021 – Chris Morris (RR) : Got the Highest Bid for IPL-2021
Chris Morris became the all-time highest paid in the IPL auctions. For the 2021 edition of the IPL Rajasthan Royals bought the South African all-rounder Chris Morris for a whopping 16.25 crores. He became most expensive by in the history of tournament surpassing Yuvraj Singh.
