Surrey County Cricket Club has secured the signing of fast bowler Auqib Nabi on a short-term red-ball contract. The 29-year-old seamer joins the defending multi-time champions for their next three County Championship fixtures, offering vital frontline reinforcement as the English domestic season enters its decisive closing stretch.

Short-Term Deal Across Three Crucial Fixtures

Nabi’s stint will cover an intensive window of Division One action, making him available for selection against:

• Yorkshire

• Sussex

• Glamorgan

The move comes as Surrey contends with an unforgiving schedule that demands six matches in six weeks, compounded by short turnaround windows and national call-ups depleting their bowling options.

“With the exceptionally challenging schedule of six games in six weeks, with minimal recovery between matches along with international fixtures, we’ve had to add options to our bowling stocks for the County Championship run-in,” said Alec Stewart, Surrey’s Director of Men’s Cricket. “We look forward to welcoming Auqib to the group this week.”
