Punia said that whether BJP, Congress or AAP come, everyone is welcome because when we win medals, we do not hoist the flag of any party, we hoist the tricolor. When someone wins a medal, everyone comes to congratulate, not just one party. All the countrymen are welcome because today if we cannot fight for our sisters and daughters then we cannot fight against anyone.
Earlier this year, veteran wrestlers staged a sit-in protest alleging sexual harassment by Singh, following which the government constituted a six-member monitoring committee headed by Mary Kom to look into the allegations, whose report is yet to be made public.
Wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar said that unnecessary delay is being done in presenting the investigation report. Former world champion Vinesh Phogat said that we are getting tired of waiting for the report. We want an FIR to be registered against Brij Bhushan Singh.
