Himachal Pradesh crushed the experienced Tamil Nadu by 11 runs (VJD method) to clinch their maiden title, after Himachal Pradesh Captain Rishi Dhawan decided to field first. Tamil Nadu were chasing their sixth Vijay Hazare title but lost to Himachal Pradesh.
