The much awaited Lanka Premier League (LPL) auction has come to an ends. Dilshan Madhushanka becomes the highest bid player for a amount of $92,000. Whereas former India and Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina name was called on set but auctioneer decided to not to call him.
There was a new surprise, Wildcard auction to take place from pre budget as teams can sign overseas players by submitting names before Monday.
Suresh Rain (former India team cricketer) who announced his retirement just after the retirement of MS Dhoni is now preparing himself for the next journey of his career. Even after his retirement, Raina has not been a part of the Chennai team in IPL for the past two years.

Suresh Raina had been a regular face in the Indian Premier League history. He had been a part of the tournament since 2008 to till 2021. Raina only missed the 2020 season because of his returning to home due to the Covid pandemic. However, now Raina decided to take part in the LPL. As a rule by BCCI for Indian players, players will have to retire before taking part in any other foreign leagues.
As for the Lanka Premier League, the much anticipated auction took place on 14th June. Around 360 players have signed and engaged themselves for the auction. The main tournament is set to begin from 31st July with the final on 22nd August.
