The proteas after beating the number one test team in the world, India, will face The Kiwis at their home. South Africa will play a 2 match test series against New Zealand in New Zealand in the month of February. The series will be the part of world test Championship cycle 2021-2023.
In September the dates were slightly changed due to COVID-19 rules for travelling to New Zealand. But in November the New Zealand Cricket board confirm the dates to host the series. Firstly it was decided to to hold the second test at the basin reserve but now both the test matches will be played at Hagley Oval. The first match will be played on 17th February while the second match will kick start from February 25.

The proteas have included the 37-year old of spinner Simon Harmer for the two match test series against the Kiwis. Lutho Simpala has also been included, who missed the home series against India. The pace contingent consist of Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen, Glenton Stuurman, Duanne Olivier and Wilder Mulder has been featured in the squad. Anrich Nortje will miss out the series due to hip injury while Aiden Markram gets the place in the squad despite averaging 25 in his last 19 Tests.
