In the midst of ongoing scrutiny surrounding Mitchell Starc’s performance in the IPL season, Kolkata Knight Riders’ managing director and CEO, Venky Mysore, has come forward to offer staunch support for the Australian fast bowler. Despite Mitchell Starc’s struggles on the field, Mysore emphasized that the team doesn’t view him solely from a financial perspective.

Mitchell Starc, who was acquired for a record-breaking ₹24.75 crore, has faced criticism for his limited experience in the shortest format of the game and his nine-year hiatus from the IPL. However, Mysore defended the decision to sign Starc, citing his superstar status and the unique dynamic he brings to the team.

Acknowledging Mitchell Starc’s recent challenges, including conceding runs without taking wickets in the initial matches and facing tough overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mysore remained optimistic about the player’s contribution to the team.

Despite setbacks, Mysore highlighted Starc’s ability to turn the tide in crucial moments, such as his decisive catch that led to a dramatic one-run victory.
