IPL 2021: List of Retained and Released Players of Each Franchise

 

 

The moment each and every IPL fan has been waiting for has finally arrived!!!! All the IPL teams have released their respective lists of the players they have chosen to retain as well as the players they have chosen to release. Many big players such as Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Lasith Malinga and Aaron finch have been released. It would be exciting to see which team bids for the big names. Royal Challengers Bangalore have released 10 players from their list, which happens to be the most and Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders have released just 5. Rajasthan Royals have announced Sanju Samson as their new captain and face. Let’s take a look at the players retained and released by each franchise.

 

Chennai Super Kings:

CSK have released six players from their squad ahead of the auction. Shane Watson, who retired from all forms of cricket after the last season of IPL, is the only foreigner to have not been retained as he had announced his retirement earlier during IPL 2020.

Mumbai Indians:

The defending champions have decided not to change their winning combination and have persisted with their core. They’ve released their old war horse Lasith Malinga as well as NCN.

RCB have released 10 players from their squad and would most probably the busiest team during the IPL 2021 auctions. Big names like Aaron Finch and Chris Morris have been released.

SRH have just released 5 players and have retained their core. Billy Stanlake and Fabian Allen are the two overseas players to have been released by them.

Delhi Capitals:

Delhi Capitals have released five players from their squad that reached the final last season, which includes three foreigners and two Indians. With Alex Carey released, they have only one wicketkeeper – Rishabh Pant – retained in the side.
