The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be hosted by UAE and Oman. On 16th July 2021 ICC announced the groups for the 2021 Men’s T20 World Cup which will be hosted by BCCI from 17 October to 14 November in UAE and Oman.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) will host the 2021 Men’s T20 World Cup. The seventh edition of the World T20 will be played from October 17. The tournament was shifted to UAE from India due to Covid crisis in India.

Men’s T20 World Cup qualifier will begin on 17 October 2021 in Oman and UAE. Oman will host the qualifier matches for a teams. The final round of the men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will begin from October 24 in UAE. The final of the men’s T20 World Cup will be played on November 14.

16 teams have qualified for the men’s T20 World Cup based on their ranking and qualifying matches. The teams for the final round includes India ,Pakistan ,Australia ,England ,South Africa, New Zealand ,West Indies and Afghanistan. The qualifying teams includes Sri Lanka, Netherlands ,Bangladesh ,Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland and Oman.

This might be the first instance of  both the groups as ‘Group Of Death’

How amazing will be the Super 12s?

India and Pakistan are placed in the same group for the men’s T20 World Cup 2021. In the group B are tribals India and Pakistan are along with New Zealand and Afghanistan.

The group 1 contains World Cup winner England, Australia, South Africa and the defending Champions West Indies. Four teams from the qualifying stage will qualify for the super 12 round.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh war qualified automatically based on the rankings for the qualifier round. While the other 6 teams have booked their spot through ICC men’s T20 World Cup qualifier 2019.

“There are some great match ups offered by the groups and it starts to bring the event to life for our fans as our first multi-team event since the onset of the global pandemic draws closer,” ICC chief executive Allardice said in a press release.

“There is no doubt we will witness some highly competitive cricket when the event gets underway in just three months.”
