Junior Marsh have been handy with the bat since his comeback

Mitchell Marsh has been provided with enough opportunities in the International Circuit but it has failed to deliver according to his potential just like his elder brother Shaun Marsh.

Mitchell Marsh has represented Australia in 32 test matches and has a poor batting average of 25 and 38 with the ball. In white ball cricket his numbers are not good . But they have significantly improved during the Caribbean tour.

Mitchell Marsh made his T20 debut in 2011 against South Africa but has only played 10 games so far. Mitchell Marsh was recalled by the Australian team as a replacement for Marcus Stoinis for the West Indies tour. Marcus Stoinis is likely to  make it to the World Cup squad.

Mitchell Marsh has always been favourite for the head coach Justin Langer. When Justin Langer was a coach of Western Australia, he made Mitchell Marsh the captain of the team. Just before the series Langee stated that Mitchell Marsh will Bat at 3  for the side. Michael Clarke thinks Mitchell Marsh could be the next possible captain of the Australian side.

Mitchell Marsh has wealth of experience to carry the BIGGEST Responsibility

Mitchell Marsh was up to the expectations before the series and batted like a lone Warrior for the side. Junior Marsh so far scored three half centuries in 4 games. Mitchell Marsh was also handy with the ball.

Mitchell Marsh who came just as a replacement for Marcus Stoinis is now under the spotlight. He is likely to replace Steve Smith at Number 3 for the T20 World Cup. Steve Smith is suffering from the elbow injury and is not certain about his availability for the T20 World Cup.

Mitchell Marsh can be used as a anchor as well as a power hitter at the top of the order.  Also with the ball the utility all-rounder can also provide Australian team with some crucial overs. He can be the next big thing in Australian cricket. Although he has been in the limelight since 2010 but it’s the first time in his career that he ha taken the mantle of leadership which was expected from him from a long time.

Mitchell Marsh has the potential to lead the side in next few years after Finch. He can also lead the Australian Test side as Tim Paine has not delivered for the team as expected. Continuous failure from Tim Paine has made the selectors to think about the new captain of the side.

Mitchell Marsh is also interested in captaining the national side.  he has led Australian a team for a  number of times and is also the part of leadership group in the current T20 squad against West Indies.

“I’m still young when it comes to my leadership … but where we’re at at the moment, there’s going to be a few young leaders,”

“Captaining the Australia A series in India, I don’t see it as a dress rehearsal for me, but I see it as a great opportunity to captain in those conditions. I’ve captained in Australia and at the WACA, where … fast bowlers are used a lot more, so they’re different conditions. So this is an opportunity to work on my captaincy around spin, setting fields around the bat and those sort of things.”

“I’ll work as much with the spinners and learn as much as I can so I can be the best captain I can be for WA and be the best leader I can be in Australian cricket.”

Marsh further added, “I think as a vice-captain you’ve got to be the best person you can be for your skipper, give them your full support and be a shoulder to lean on,”

“And around the group, (you should) be the same person. That’s one thing I’ve learned about leadership is to not change the reason you get appointed in the first place. You’ve become a leader because of the person you are, so I won’t change much.” Mitchell Marshal said in an interview .

Well the current state of Australian Cricket Team really needs an experienced campaigner who can just step up for good 5-6 Years and groom the next generation, if they want to remain competitive against the likes of England, India and New Zealand.  With the age on the wrong side for Aaron Finch, David Warned and Steve Smith. The Australian Cricket Teams seems to be in a big trouble for now.
