The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has made significant strides in enhancing its coaching staff, announcing the appointments of David Hemp and Andre Adams as the National Men’s team batting and bowling coaches, respectively. Both seasoned professionals are set to embark on a two-year journey with their first challenge being the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka.

David Hemp, who previously held the position of High Performance Head Coach since May 2023, is no stranger to the Bangladesh national side. Having served as the team’s batting coach during their New Zealand tour last year, Hemp brings valuable insights and experience to his new role.

The former international player for Bermuda boasts an impressive first-class cricket record, accumulating over 15,500 runs while representing Glamorgan, Free State, and Warwickshire.

Hemp’s coaching pedigree includes an ECB Level 4 Coaching Certification, underlining his commitment to coaching excellence. His previous roles as the head coach of the Pakistan Women’s National Team, Head Coach for Victoria State Women’s Team, and association with the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League showcase his diverse coaching experience.

Joining Hemp is former New Zealand allrounder Andre Adams, who assumes the role of the national team’s bowling coach. Adams, previously the White Ferns bowling coach, brings a wealth of experience to Bangladesh.

His coaching journey includes recent stints with the New Zealand men’s team during the T20I series against Pakistan and as Australia’s Assistant Coach in their 2022-23 series against South Africa. Adams also served as the head bowling coach of New South Wales Blues in the Australian Sheffield Shield from 2018 to 2023.

With their extensive playing and coaching backgrounds, Hemp and Adams aim to contribute significantly to the success of the Bangladesh national cricket team. The BCB looks forward to their leadership as they kick off their tenure with the challenging home series against Sri Lanka.
