Indian team opener KL Rahul is going through a bad phase at the moment. He could not play many matches earlier due to injuries. Rahul was dropped from the Test team due to poor form, but he had not seen such a bad run in formats other than ODIs.
Rahul lost the vice-captaincy following a string of poor performances in the T20I International format. In the last 10 Test innings, Rahul scored 8, 12, 10, 22, 23, 10, 2, 20, 17 and 1.
Due to this, the vice-captaincy was snatched from Rahul from the test as well. It is being speculated that Rahul may be dropped from the team in the next two matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

Dinesh Karthik, who has played a lot of cricket with KL Rahul, said that he feels bad for the opener. Rahul was dismissed after scoring only 1 run in the second innings of the Delhi Test, he didn’t do anything wrong.
He flicked the ball to Baff of length, but the ball hit the pads of Peter Handscomb at forward short leg and the ball went into the air and wicketkeeper Alex Carey took a simple catch.
Karthik said that if Rahul is out of the Test starting March 1 in Indore, it will not be because of this one-time dismissal but because of the continuous flops from the South Africa series last year.
Talking to Cricbuzz, Karthik said, ‘Rahul also knows that if he is out of the team in the next match, it will not be because of an innings. This will happen because in the last five-six Tests he has failed to score runs, he is a class player.He is brilliant in all formats.

Karthik said, ‘This is the professional world, you have to deal with the bad moments. But as a player when I see what he is going through. When you get out and you know it could be your last innings, it has happened to me. I used to go to the dressing room and cry quietly in the bathroom. It is not a good feeling because you cannot do much.’
