The Pakistan Cricket Board believes that former chairman Ramiz Raja’s comments are aimed at tarnishing and damaging the reputation of current chairman Najam Sethi.
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday engaged in a war of words between the board’s new management committee and the former chairman following his formal exit. “The Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed its dismay at the comments made and the language used by former chairman Ramiz Raja against PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi on social media platforms and in a TV interview,” the PCB said in a statement.
Attempt to tarnish the reputation of Najam Sethi –
The statement said that “The PCB believes that former chairman Raja’s comments are aimed at tarnishing and damaging the reputation of current chairman Najam Sethi. The PCB reserves the right to take legal action to protect and defend the image and credibility of its Chairman and the institution.”Â
Rameez Raja was furious after being removed from PCB
It may be noted that last Thursday, Raja was removed from the post of PCB chairman by the country’s government, which appointed a 14-member committee headed by Najam Sethi to run the affairs of the game for the next four months.
Following his dismissal, Ramiz Raja alleged that he was not even allowed to collect his belongings from the board after the constitution was suspended by the government.
