Team India led by Rohit Sharma will tour the West Indies after the prestigious World Test Championship. Between July and August for two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is match series. However, it seems that the BCCI, the Board of Control for Cricket in India, has finalized the schedule for this tour.
The schedule is likely to be officially announced soon after the WTC final. But Cricbuzz revealed the schedule of this tour before BCCI, it is stated in their article that this tour will continue from July 12 to August 13.
The two Test series will be held first, the first Test between July 12-16 and the second between July 20-14. The Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Dominica, Trinidad will host these two Test matches.
According to Cricbuzz, the three ODI series will continue from July 27 to August 13, with the first ODI on July 27, the second ODI on July 29 and the third ODI on August 1. The five T20I series will be held from August 4 to 13. The first T20I will be played on August 4, the second T20I on August 6, the third T20I on August 8, the fourth T20I on August 12 and the fifth T20I on August 13.Â
These three series will be telecasted by OTT platform Jiocinema for free. These matches will be telecast live on DD Sports owned by the Government of India.
Jio Cinema, which has already won the hearts of cricket fans by offering IPL for free, has once again impressed the cricket fans by broadcasting the West Indies tour for free, which did not earn a rupee commercially. To this extent, Jio Cinema has entered into an agreement with Fan Code, the official OTT broadcaster of West Indies.
While the Rohit Sharma-led team India will play the Test and ODI series during the West Indies tour, the T20I series is likely to be played by the second-tier team led by Hardik Pandya, players who have shown their potential in IPL will be given a chance in this series.
