The second match of the 3-match T20I series will be played on Thursday, January 5 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, where Team India will try to win the series.

In the thrilling first match that lasted till the last ball, Team India won by a margin of 2 runs. Batting first, Team India’s top order flopped in Wankhede.

Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav could score only 7-7 runs while Sanju Samson, who did not get a chance in the ODI series against Bangladesh, managed to score only 5 runs.

The question arises whether he will get a chance in the second match as well or will Rahul Tripathi be tried. Let’s talk about India’s possible playing XI in the second match.

Opening Pair- Team India having won the first match will try to win the series first, so it seems difficult to tinker with the opening pair after only 1 match. Therefore, the team would like to start the innings with Ishaan and Shubman Gill.

Middle Order- Apart from Deepak Hooda and Hardik Pandya, the middle order of Team India was a flop. Surya at number 3 and Sanju Samson at number 4 disappointed. Hooda played a brilliant inning of 41 runs. Here Rahul Tripathi may get a chance in place of Sanju Samson, but its scope is less visible.

All-rounder- Akshar Patel was expensive in the first T20I. He gave away 31 runs in 3 overs. However, in the last over, he defended 13 runs to win the team and also shared a 68-run partnership with Hooda in batting. In the second match, the team can give Washington Sundar a chance in place of Yuzvendra Chahal. Chahal had given 26 runs in 2 overs and remained wicketless.

Arshdeep’s return in bowling- Talking about fast bowling, Arshdeep Singh can return. He may get a chance in place of Harshal Patel, who took 2 wickets but conceded 41 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 10.41.

Team India Possible Playing XI –

Shubman Gill, Ishaan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Akshar Patel, Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi.
