The third T20I match between West Indies and India had a somewhat unusual start due to a delay caused by the ground staff forgetting to mark the 30-yard circle on the field. Interestingly, the umpires and players had already stepped onto the field, but they had to return inside after noticing the oversight, resulting in a delayed start to the match.

Amidst all this, it was a memorable day for 21-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal as he made his T20I debut. Following his impressive performance in his maiden international match for India during the recently concluded Test series, there was much anticipation to see Jaiswal in action in his T20I jersey.

In addition to the delay in the game and the introduction of the young 21-year-old cricketer, experienced Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the West Indies tour. He even extended his wishes and encouragement to Jaiswal ahead of his much-awaited T20I debut.

Ashwin tweeted,

“That delay was surprising! Such factors make touring West Indies no easy feat. A cricketer must always stay switched on and anticipate some event or the other. Best wishes to Yashasvi, play well Chinni Paita!”
