Indian team’s off-spinner Washington Sundar has created a sensation on Friday against New Zealand by holding a surprising catch of Mark Chapman.
The first match of the three T20I International series is being played between India and New Zealand in Ranchi. Indian team captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. Finn Allen (35) got the team off to a blistering start. He scored 35 runs in 23 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.
Indian off-spinner Washington Sundar bowled the fifth over of the innings and dealt a blow to New Zealand on the second ball. Sundar got Allen caught out by Suryakumar Yadav.
After this came the moment, which made Washington Sundar a ‘Superman’ in the eyes of the fans. Sundar drove Mark Chapman on the last ball of the same over.

Washington Sundar took a brilliant one-handed catch by diving to the right of Mark Chapman on the last ball of the over. In fact, after taking Allen’s wicket, Sundar put pressure on Chapman and scored three balls. On the fourth i.e the last ball of the over, Chapman went ahead and defended and the ball hit the upper part of his bat and went a little in the air.
Washington Sundar was alert and stretched his body to the right to take a spectacular right-handed catch. The video of this catch has gone viral on social media. Sundar did not allow Chapman to open the account.

By the way, at first the umpire did not believe that this catch was really taken. That’s why the on-field umpire took the help of the third umpire. It was clearly seen in the replays that Sundar took a very clear catch of Chapman.
