As per the notifications of the West Bengal state government, a crowd of around 50,000 people is expected during the India – West Indies series. The West Bengal government have announced that 75% of the crowd is allowed inside the stadium during the three-match T20 Series between India and West Indies starting from February 16 at the Eden Gardens.
As per the state government notification issued on Monday, “all indoor and outdoor sports activities will be allowed with 75 per cent of the capacity of the venue”.
“We are thankful to the honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, chief secretary and Government of West Bengal for announcing resumption of sporting activities as well as for allowing 75 per cent of the capacity of spectators back to the stadium,” CAB president Avishek Dalmiya said in a statement.

India will also play a 3-match ODI series against West Indies in Ahmedabad starting from February 6 before coming to the city of joy. Last year, Eden Gardens hosted a T20 match between India and New Zealand with 70% attendance. The Cricket Association of Bengal is also planning to resume the local tournament following all the precautions and COVID-19 protocols.
