Renowned spinner R Ashwin has dubbed the Indian cricket team as the hardest working team in the world. In light of the upcoming 2023 World Cup, Ashwin has urged fans to show their unwavering support for the team.

The Indian team is currently in the West Indies, gearing up for the WC tournament to be held in India in October-November.

Ashwin engaged in a candid discussion about the World Cup and the team on his YouTube channel. He stressed the need for an abundance of positivity and a feeling of unity among the fans. He encouraged them to witness the dedication and hard work put in by the players during practice sessions and gym workouts.

All teams come to the tournament to win the World Cup. If we don’t win, we move forward. If we win, we applaud them. What I’m saying is that when we step into the 2023 World Cup, we should wholeheartedly support the team.

Further he added and said,

Winning the World Cup is no easy feat. We are like kings from afar, but it’s not as simple as it seems. We have qualified for nearly all major tournaments’ semi-finals, but haven’t performed as well in the finals,”

Ashwin also highlighted India’s achievements in ICC tournaments, mentioning the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy triumphs. He urged people to take pride in the team’s progress over the years.

“We won the 2011 World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy, but we haven’t won an ICC Trophy in the last ten years. Before every tournament, people say, ‘India hasn’t won an ICC Trophy in a long time.’ We should be proud of how far we have come as a cricketing nation. Let’s spread positivity within our team. It’s a serious request,”

Ashwin concluded.

As the cricketing world eagerly awaits the 2023 World Cup, Ashwin’s call for unwavering support and encouragement serves as a reminder of the vital role fans play in motivating their team to achieve glory on the grandest stage of cricket.

The Indian cricket team’s journey has been one of remarkable progress, and the fans’ backing can undoubtedly fuel their quest for victory in the prestigious tournament.
