England’s middle order batsman Harry Brook was dismissed in a very unfortunate way in the first Test of the Ashes series on Friday. The video of Brooke getting out has gone viral. The right-handed batsman scored 32 runs in 37 balls with the help of four fours.
England won the toss and decided to bat first and Harry Brook came to the crease after Ollie Pope (31) was dismissed. Brook set his feet at the crease and seemed to be able to play a big innings. But he remained a joke.
Nathan Lyon was bowling the 38th over of the innings. He bowled Brook on the second ball of the innings. Lyon bowled a short length ball on the leg stump line, which hit Brook’s thigh pad. Seeing the wicketkeeper, it seemed that the ball was going backwards in the air on the leg side. But the ball definitely went in the air and after hitting Brook’s back, it hit the stumps.
Brook did not see the ball and did not know that the ball had hit the stumps. The entire Australian team, including Nathan Lyon, celebrated this wicket in a big way. The fans liked the idea of Brook’s exit. He couldn’t stop laughing. England’s score was 175/4 when Brook was out.
