Virat Kohli made his International debut on 18 August, 2008 against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. He got selected in the Indian team  after leading India to the  U-19 World Cup victory in Malaysia. With both Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag not being available his debut was disastrous for Indian team as they were bundled out for just 146 in 46 overs. Those were the days of Ajantha Mendis’s mystery spin bowling.However after the failure of 1st innings he never looked back and scored 54 in only his 2nd ODI and that too in Testing Conditions.
