India’s young bowler Umran Malik once again surprised everyone with his pace in the first match of the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
He bowled at a speed of 155kph against Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka in the 17th over. Not only did he get Shanaka’s wicket on this ball, but he also broke Jasprit Bumrah’s record in terms of speed.
Now he has become the fastest bowler from India. Earlier in IPL, he had created a sensation by bowling against Delhi at a speed of 157kph.
Umran now has the record of world’s fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar, popularly known as the Rawalpindi Express, bowled the fastest ball at a speed of 161.3kph against England during the 2003 World Cup.
What did Akhtar said on Umran Malik?
Talking to Sportskeeda, when Shoaib Akhtar was asked about his record, Akhtar laughed and said, “I will be happy if he breaks my record, but at the same time he laughs that he will break his bones while breaking my record. Don’t get him broken I mean keep him fit.”
Let us tell you that earlier when Umran Malik was asked about breaking this record of Shoaib Akhtar, he said that if I am lucky, I will break this record.
In the first T20I match against Sri Lanka, Umran has once again started the new year with a bang. In the first match, he took 2 wickets for only 27 runs in 4 overs bowling. His bowling will once again be under watch in the second T20I.
