The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially unveiled the U19 squad that will represent the nation in the upcoming tri-series in South Africa and the ICC U19 World Cup scheduled to be held in the same country next year. Uday Pratap Saharan, the current captain leading the Boys in Blue in the ongoing U19 Asia Cup 2023, has been entrusted with the responsibility of captaining the team in the World Cup.

The junior cricket selection committee meticulously curated a 15-member squad for both the tri-series and the World Cup, with an additional three standby players selected for the South Africa triangular series. Additionally, four reserve players have been named to bolster the team’s depth.

Commencing on December 29, 2023, the tri-series will feature India, England, and South Africa, with the final set to take place on January 10, 2024. Following the tri-series, the India U19 team will shift their focus to preparing for the ICC U19 World Cup.

Placed in Group A alongside Bangladesh, Ireland, and USA, India will kick off their U19 World Cup campaign on January 20, facing Bangladesh in Bloemfontein.
