In a gripping encounter at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, MI New York (MINY) batter Tim David delivered a sensational cameo to guide his side to a thrilling victory over the Texas Super Kings (TSK) in the second qualifier of Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 on Friday, July 28.
With this triumph, MINY booked their spot in the summit clash, where they will face the formidable Seattle Orcas on Sunday.
After being put in to bat by MINY, TSK managed to post a competitive total of 158 runs in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to valuable contributions from Devon Conway (38) and Milind Kumar (37).
However, it was MINY’s Trent Boult who stole the show with his exceptional four-wicket haul, showcasing his prowess in the bowling department.
In pursuit of the target, MINY faced a tricky situation at 106/3 in 15 overs, with Dewald Brevis (24 in 25 balls) and Tim David (15 in 15 balls) struggling to find their rhythm at the crease. Seizing the opportunity, TSK brought on leg-spinner Mohammad Mohsin to put further pressure on David in the 16th over.
However, TSK’s move backfired spectacularly as Tim David took charge and unleashed a barrage of three sixes off the first four deliveries, instantly altering the momentum of the chase. Although David perished on the very next ball, his fireworks had already infused new life into the MINY camp.

David Wiese (19*) and Dewald Brevis (41*) capitalized on the momentum created by Tim David’s explosive cameo, steering MINY to a memorable victory by successfully chasing down the target in 19 overs.
