The BCCI is giving its full attention to the Indian women’s team. The BCCI is currently on the lookout for a new coach for the Indian women’s team. Recently, former South African cricketer Gary Kirsten has turned down the offer of the post of coach. Let us tell you that BCCI had talked to Gary for this post, but he has flatly refused to take this responsibility.

In fact, the current coach of the Indian women’s team is Hrishikesh Kanitkar, to replace whom the BCCI is looking for a new coach. Gary Kirsten was offered the post by the BCCI, but he did not accept it. According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, Kirsten has declined to accept the position due to commitments in the IPL.

According to the report, BCCI wanted to make him the coach but due to his busy schedule in IPL and other leagues, Kirsten has refused to take the responsibility. Amol Majumdar, Hrishikesh Kanitkar were in this race. Kanitkar is already serving as the interim coach.

If we talk about big international names, then Charlotte Edwards has recently joined this race. Now it will be interesting to see whether BCCI decides to go ahead with the World Cup winning captain of England or not?

Most recently, Edwards led the Mumbai Indians team in the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL). In such a situation, it is believed that the BCCI will decide to sign a two-year contract with him. In such a situation, there has been no response from him on this.
