Actually, former Indian cricketer Salim Durani breathed his last on the morning of 2 April. He was ailing for a long time and was battling a serious illness like cancer. He said goodbye to the world at the age of 88 in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Let us tell you that Salim was born in Kabul, he played his first Test match for India on 1 January 1960 against Australia at the Brabourne Stadium, which was his debut match.

Playing cricket for India for almost 13 years, he played a total of 29 Test matches and scored 1202 runs at an average of 25.04, in which he got 1 century and 7 half-centuries with his bat. He used to hit sixes on the demand of the fans. Along with this, let us tell that Salim was such a cricketer who was awarded the Arjuna Award. He took this award of the sports world in 1960.

After his death, Indian Prime Minister PM Modi has also expressed condolences by tweeting on his Twitter account. PM Modi tweeted and wrote,

Salim Durani ji was a legend of cricket, a legend in himself. He made significant contribution to India in the world of cricket. He was known for his style inside and outside the field. I am deeply saddened by his death. Condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace.

Along with this, after retirement from cricket, he also tried his hand in the film world. Salim Durani made his film debut with the Bollywood film ‘Charitra’. Actress Parveen Babi was with him in this film. The whole world was crazy about his looks.
