Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has retired from international cricket, has led CSK to four IPL wins under his captaincy.
Now Dhoni is on the verge of retiring from IPL as well. In such a situation, who will captain CSK after Dhoni? This has become a topic of discussion.
Although there is no official announcement from the CSK franchise, CSK batting coach Mike Hussey sees Dhoni-like resemblance in Ruturaj Gaikwad. Speaking to The Indian Express, Hussey said, “I am not sure what CSK has planned for the future, but Ruturaj is like Dhoni, who is very calm.”
“Ruturaj has the ability to lead like Dhoni” -:
Hussey further added, “Like Dhoni when it comes to handling pressure he is really calm and he reads the game very well. As I said earlier, he is very intelligent and I think People are attracted to him because of his nature, character and personality. He has some excellent leadership qualities.”
It may be noted that CSK made Ravindra Jadeja the captain in the last season of IPL. However, in the middle of the season, Jadeja handed over the captaincy to Dhoni. Now once again the discussions about the next captain of the team have intensified. Mike Hussey, Ruturaj Gaikwad can be seen as the future captain for CSK.
