Sydney Thunder, who made the smallest score of Big Bash League (BBL), scored 228 runs in 20 overs. Sydney’s team was all out for 15 runs, the smallest score of BBL on 16 December.

The team scored the fourth highest score of BBL against Hobart Hurricanes on Saturday. In this way, within 15 days, the team made 2 records of the Big Bash League.

Hales-Davies added 105 runs :-

After losing the toss, Mathew Gykes got the Thunder off to a brisk start. He was dismissed after scoring 33 runs off 16 balls. Opener Alex Hales scored 77 runs. He added 105 runs for the second wicket with Oliver Davis. Davis scored 65 runs at a strike rate of 203.

In the team’s other batters, Riley Russo scored 18, Alex Ross scored 14 and Nathan McAndrew scored 10 runs. Daniel Sams and Ben Cutting could only score 1-1 runs. The team scored 228 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Nathan Ellis took 4 wickets and Riley Meredith took 2 wickets for Hobart.

Matthew Wade scored at a strike rate of 223 :-

Captain Matthew Wade got off to a brisk start as Hobart chased down the target of 229 runs, Wade scored 67 runs on 30 balls.

In this innings he hit 2 fours and 6 sixes. Apart from him, none of the team’s batsmen could do anything special and the team was all out for 166 in 17 overs. They had to face defeat by 62 runs.

Brandon Dogett took 4 wickets and Ben Cutting took 2 wickets for Thunder. Hobart’s batters included Celeb Jewell 20, Darcy Short 1, Tim David 25, Jimmy Neesham 13, Asif Ali 6, Shadab Khan 1, Joel Paris 4, Nathan Ellis 7 and Patrick Dooley 10. Riley Meredith remained unbeaten on a score of zero.

Stars have scored 273 :-

The record of making the biggest team score in the Big Bash League is in the name of Melbourne Stars. They scored 273/2 against Hobart on 19 January 2022 itself. Sydney Thunder is named after him.

Thunder scored 232/5 against Sydney Sixers on 22 January 2021. At number three, Perth Scorchers scored 229/7 against Melbourne Stars just 8 days ago.
