Sri Lanka Cricket board announced the ODI squad for 3-match series against Zimbabwe. The squad has 3 new faces in Nuwan Thusara, Chamika Gunasekera, Shiran Fernando have been named in the Sri Lanka squad for a three match ODI series against Zimbabwe played in Pallekelle.
Dasun Shanaka will lead the squad that misses the likes of Avishka Fernando, Janith Liyanage and Kamil Mishara as the three of them tested positive for COVID-19. Senior wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Chandimala is also part of the squad.

Nuwan Thushara picked 12 wickets for Galle Gladiators in the LPL 2021. Shiran Fernando has picked 26 wickets in as many List A games while Chamika Gunasekera bagged six wickets for 83 runs in his most recent game against Pakistan A.
Sri Lanka will miss the services of all-rounder Dhananjaya De Silva, who has opted out of the series due to paternity leave. Wanindu Hasaranga will miss the entire series due to hamstring injury he suffered during Lanka Premier League. Kusal Perera will also remain unavailable due to injury.

All the matches of the ODI series will be played at Palekele International cricket stadium. The series will kick start from 16 January and second match will played on 18th January. Last game of the bilateral series will played on January 21.
