Once again the matter of fixing has come to the fore in the world of cricket. Indian team’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj had given a big information to the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He told that just before the India-Australia series that took place this year, a person had contacted him.
That person had asked Siraj for the inside information of the team by sending a WhatsApp message, in return, he had given the greed of a huge amount.
Andhra Pradesh police arrested that person before the series against Australia. Let us tell you that in February-March, the Indian team played a series of 4 Tests and 3 ODIs against Australia at their own home.
After this information, this unit of BCCI came into action and while investigating fast, arrested that driver. A BCCI official has told that the person who contacted Siraj is not a bookie, but was a driver from Hyderabad addicted to betting on matches.
A senior BCCI official said, ‘There was no bookie who contacted Siraj. He is a driver from Hyderabad, who bets on matches. He had lost a lot of money in betting. For this reason, he had contacted Siraj for inside information of the team, Siraj immediately informed about this.’
