Ojha and Rohit have known each other from very young age and played together for Deccan Chargers in the inaugural edition of the IPL.

Pragyan Ojha said that Rohit Sharma gets emotional when he recalls his early days and how he had to struggle to buy a cricket kit. Ojha and Rohit were also together at Mumbai Indians where the team won titles in 2013 and 2015.

Pragyan Ojha said in an interview to Jio Cinema, ‘When I met Rohit Sharma for the first time in the Under-15 National Camp, everyone used to say that he is a special player. There I played against him and took his wicket. Rohit is a typical Bombay boy who doesn’t speak much but he is aggressive when he plays. I was also surprised that we didn’t even know each other, but he was getting aggressive in front of me. But after this our friendship started growing.’

Ojha further said, ‘Rohit Sharma belongs to a middle-class family and I remember once he got emotional and told that he did not have money to buy a cricket kit. He sold packets of milk. Sure it’s a long time ago, but sold packets of milk so he could buy his kit. Now when I look at them, I feel very proud of how our journey began and where we have reached.’
