The Indian Cricket Team has reached the Sri Lankan land for a three match T20 and three match ODI series. Team India is full of new faces and few of them are  experienced white ball cricketers. Team India will be led by Shikhar Dhawan and Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach of the team for the Sri Lanka tour.

India will play only play one T20I series before the T20 World Cup 2021 which is going to held later this year. This Sri Lanka tour becomes very crucial for the team India before heading into the T20 world cup. This series will bring many opportunities for the the new faces to consolidate their spot in the the team. In this article, we will see three potential debutants for India.

Chetan Sakariya, young Saurashtra bowler impressed a lot in this season of the IPL.  Chetan Sakariya was picked up by Rajasthan Royals franchise for 1.2 crore in the auctions.

Chetan Sakariya was also impressive in the domestic circuit and he showed his skills in the IPL too. He played all the games for the franchise before the IPL was called off due to amid arise in covid cases. He pick up 7 wickets with an good economy of 8. Chetan sakariya has got many variations in his bowling which were eye catching and this impressive performance made him the part of team India squad for the Sri Lanka tour.

Chetan Sakariya has been named in the 20 man Squad for the Sri Lanka tour.  He might make his debut against Sri Lanka. Chetan Sakariya is very keen to grab his opportunities in the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

Devdutt Padikkal

Devadutt Padikkal , at an very early age has become run machine for the Karnataka team. He is very consistent in the domestic format. With his impressive performance in the domestic circuit for the last two years, he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise and was retained for the  2021 IPL edition.

In the 2020 edition of the IPL, Padikkal scored 473 runs which was one of the standout performers for the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. In the 2021 Vijay Hazare trophy , he scored 4 consecutive centuries which equals the record of Virat Kohli.

Devdutt Padikkal  was also impressive in this year’s IPL edition. He scored a century against Rajasthan Royals. His brilliant performance in the domestic tournaments and the Indian Premier League were enough for him to receive his maiden call  for the team India squad against Sri Lanka.

Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are the favorites to open the innings for team India but Devdutt Padikkal might get chance to play  the T20 format.

Varun Chakravarthy

Varun Chakravarthy , the new spinning sensation in India. Varun has faced many ups and downs in his cricketing career.  In 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League he was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for 8.4 crores in the auction. He just played one game for the team.

In 2021 IPL, Varun picked up 7 wickets in 7 games and proved to be a very effective for the KKR team. He has many mysteries in his bowling and can be very effective in the Sri Lanka tour. He will look to seal his spot for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
