In the second semi-final match of the T20I World Cup, once again Team India’s opener could not get off to a good start and KL Rahul was dismissed after scoring only 5 runs.

He was caught by Chris Woakes at the hands of Jos Buttler. Rahul started his innings with a boundary off the very first ball and looked in good rhythm but once again he could not carry it forward.

Talking about the performance of KL Rahul against the top team in this World Cup, he has scored only 39 runs in 5 innings at a strike rate of 76.47 and an average of 7.8.

However, he has scored two half-centuries in this World Cup and both have come against smaller teams. He scored 50 off 32 balls against Bangladesh and 51 off 35 balls in the match against Zimbabwe.

Once again KL Rahul did not bat against England in the semi-final match. His failure has once again started the discussion whether he scores runs only against smaller teams.

So far in T20I World Cup, KL Rahul –

3(8) vs Pakistan, Dubai

18(16) vs New Zealand, Dubai

4(8) vs Pakistan, Melbourne

9(14) vs South Africa, Perth

5(5) vs England, Adelaide
