Rohit Sharma has been one of the greatest batsman of this era. It is safe to say that he is one of the greatest openers of all time. India are blessed to have a player like Rohit Sharma in their team and cricket fans all over the globe are blessed to watch him play. Rohit Sharma has played many great knocks in his career but which knock is his best knock of all time? On Rohit Sharman Birthday, we shall be taking a look at the top 5 greatest knocks by Rohit Sharma in international cricket.

1) 264* VS Sri Lanka:

This was one of the greatest knocks in the history of cricket. It would’ve been a crime if we hadn’t put this knock over here. In the 4th ODI against Sri Lanka in 2014, Rohit Sharma went on to score a whooping 264!!! He became the first player to score 250+ in an innings and this knock is still the highest individual knock in ODI cricket. This knock will never he forgotten by anyone, no matter what happens.

2) 50* VS South Africa:

It might be shocking to see a mere half century second on this list despite the fact that he has scored 40 centuries in international cricket. But this 50 was so good that it deserved to be second on this list. Rohit scored 50 against a world class South African bowling unit comprising of bowlers like Ntini and Pollack. He played this in a must-win game for India in the 2007 T20 World Cup. With India reeling at 3-33 and Yuvraj Singh not playing, Rohit Sharma stepped up big time and along with MS Dhoni to help the Men in Blue post 5-153 in 20 overs.

3) 209* VS Australia:

This is the knock which covered Rohit Sharma to Ro “Hitman” Sharma. This was the first of his three double hundreds. It came in the seventh and final ODI againsy Australia where India had to win this match in order to clinch the series. The “Hitman” got to his century in the 37th over before proceeding to unleash the beast within him. The next 13 overs were absolutely carnage as Rohit went on to become only the third cricketer in the history of ODI cricket to score a double-hundred. Rohit also went on to break the then-record of most sixes (16) in an innings held by Shane Watson.

4) 137 VS Bangladesh:

It takes a special talent to score a 100 in a ICC knockout. Rohit fought his way to his 7th ODI century under pretty tough conditiona against a strong Bangladeshi team. They gave their absolute best in the field and made India work hard for every single run in their innings. India needed someone to bat through the innings and lead them to a decent total. Rohit took the responsibility and helped India reach 302.

5) 79 VS Australia:

Rohit Sharma just loves playing against Australia. His love affair with Australia started a long time ago as Rohit played a gem of an innings in yet another ICC tournament. Rohit came into bat when India were 12/2 and went on to score 79 runs of 46 balls despite a batting collapse.
