Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 schedule has been released. The opening match will be played between Gujarat and Chennai Super Kings on 31st March. This time the 16th season of IPL will be played at the home stadium.

At the same time, MS Dhoni will play for CSK in Chennai after three years. The former India captain has a huge fan following in Chennai. In such a situation, the former Australian player said that Dhoni’s IPL career is over.

Speaking on Star Sports after the announcement of the IPL 2023 schedule, former Australia opener Matthew Hayden was seemed praising for Chennai Super Kings’s skipper MS Dhoni. Matthew Hayden said that after almost three years he would land at Chepauk.

Matthew Hayden said “It will be an amazing moment. I think his IPL career will be nearing its final stages now. So this season is going to be crucial for Chennai and MSD.”

Let us tell you that Dhoni had also indicated in the last season that his last IPL would end at Chepauk Stadium. In such a situation, the team has started looking for a captain to replace Dhoni, bought Ben Stokes by spending a huge amount during the auction. At the same time, Rituraj Gaikwad is also ahead in this race, the team has retained all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

First match is with Gujarat Giants –

It may be noted that Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Giants won the title last year by defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final. They would like to continue their great run in the tournament. There will be a total of 12 cricket stadiums where the tournament will be played this year. It will also include Dharamsala and Guwahati along with domestic venues.

April 1, 2023 will be the first double-header day of the season, where Punjab Kings will square off against Kolkata Knight Riders in Mohali and Lucknow Super Giants will take on Delhi Capitals in Lucknow.
