Kapil Dev, the former Indian cricket captain and coach, has made a remarkable transition from the cricket field to the golf course. The latest feather in his cap is his unanimous election as the president of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).

Kapil Dev, who joined the PGTI board in 2021 and served as a vice president before taking over the top spot, is set to take over from H R Srinivasan, whose tenure has come to an end. In a recent interview, Kapil expressed his pride in the progress Indian pro golfers have made in recent years.

“Indian pro golfers have been doing very well for quite a few years. Today we have Indian pros in most of the big Tours and we will have two golfers at the Olympics for the third time in succession,” he said.
