The IPL retentions for the 2022 season is out and there’s not a huge surprise seeing the names of the retained players of each and every team participating in IPL 2022. KL Rahul and Rashid Khan have a high probability of being a part of the 2 new teams participating in the next season.

Final List of IPL Retentions

  • Mumbai Indians: Rohit Sharma (16 cr), Jasprit Bumrah (12 cr), Suryakumar Yadav (8 cr), Kieron Pollard (6 cr)

  • Chennai Super Kings: Ravindra Jadeja (16 cr), MS Dhoni (12 cr), Ruturaj Gaikwad (8 cr), Moeen Ali (6 cr)

  • Delhi Capitals: Rishabh Pant (16 cr), Axar Patel (9 cr), Prithvi Shaw (7.5 cr), Anrich Nortje (6.5 cr)

  • Kolkata Knight Riders: Andre Russell (12 cr), Varun Chakaravarthy (8 cr), Venkatesh Iyer (8 cr), Sunil Narine (6 cr)

  • Rajasthan Royals: Sanju Samson (14 cr), Jos Buttler (10 cr) , Yashasvi Jaiswal (4 cr)

  • Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (15 cr), Glenn Maxwell (11 cr), Mohammed Siraj (7 cr)

  • Sunrisers Hyderabad: Kane Williamson (14 cr), Abdul Samad (4 cr), Umran Malik (4 cr)

  • Punjab Kings: Mayank Agarwal (14 cr), Arshdeep Singh (4 cr)

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained only Kane Williamson as a senior capped player; their other two retentions are Jammu & Kashmir rookies Abdul Samad and Umran Malik, indicating a complete change of the squad after having poor performances in the last few seasons.

No Pandya brothers in the list of the retained players of Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan Royals retained their skipper Sanju Samson and their destructive opening pair of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Chennai Super Kings have retained MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Moeen Ali.

Kolkata have retained three all-rounders in form of Venkatesh Iyer, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine. The Kolkata based franchise have also retained mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy. RCB and DC has the same retention list which few sources predicted beforehand. Yuzvendra Chahal and Shreyas Iyer are the two senior players being released by their respective teams. PBKS being the only team which retains just 2 players, Mayank Agarwal and Arshdeep Singh.
