The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the biggest and most popular T20 cricket league in the world. The league has been entertaining cricket fans since its inception in 2008, and it has now reached a significant milestone – the 1000th game.
To mark this historic occasion, two of the big teams in the league’s history – Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) – faced off in a thrilling encounter.
However, before the beginning of IPL 2023 season, a news from several big media agencies surfaced that MI vs CSK (6th May) will be the 1000th match of IPL.
Star Sports who has the TV broadcast media rights of IPL 2023 said that 1000th game of IPL will be played between MI vs CSK on 6th of May, whereas IPL 2023 digital media rights containing company JioCinema challenges that MI vs RR will be the 1000th match of IPL.
Now it became the biggest headache for fans that from which match IPL touch that feat in which they can trust that it’s the 1000th match of IPL, whether it’s on 30th April (MI vs RR) or 6th May (MI vs CSK).
Without any doubt MI vs CSK is a highly anticipated game every season. Both teams have a massive fan following, and their matches always draw huge crowds. MI and CSK have been two of the most successful teams in the IPL, having won a combined total of 8 IPL trophies.
When it comes to head-to-head record, MI has a slight edge over CSK, having won 19 out of the 32 matches played between the two teams. However, the last time these two teams met in the IPL final in 2019, it was CSK who came out on top.
