After winning in Hyderabad, the Indian team has reached Raipur. The second match of the three-match series will be played on Saturday. Team India had an optional practice in Raipur on Friday, where most of the players took part in the practice session.

Whereas, some practiced on the nets. Seeing the excellent performance of the batsmen and bowlers in the first match against New Zealand, there may be a problem in choosing the playing XI for Rohit Sharma in the second match.

In the first ODI, Shubman Gill scored a brilliant 208 as India won by 12 runs on Wednesday. With this performance, Shubman has given a befitting reply to the critics. Also, this has also put an end to the debate of opening with Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli missed out on a big score in Hyderabad but is eager to perform in Raipur.

Ishan and Suryakumar can get chance again in the team –

With KL Rahul out on leave and Shreyas Iyer out, India have few options to tinker with their batting line-up. Ishan Kishan batted at no.4 in the last game. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik can continue in their places.

At the same time, India performed well in bowling. While Siraj took 4 wickets in the first match, Shami put pressure on the New Zealand batsmen. Shardul Thakur has also left his mark. However, India have not been able to overcome the problem of restricting runs in the death overs. Umran Malik can be seen playing in place of Shardul Thakur on Saturday.

India’s Probable Playing XI for 2nd ODI against New Zealand –

Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur/Umran Malik
