The new WTC cycle will commence on 4th of August starting with the series between India and England. The England condition has always been challenging for the Indian Team. Winning in England conditions as always been difficult and a single test win is a big achievement. The England will be hosting India for the five match test-series starting on 4th August. Indian Team look to emulate the success of down under in England

After beating the Australians twice in their own backyard, team India will look to create history in England. While England got defeated by New Zealand in their home conditions. The England team will be missing the services of Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes. While Ollie Robinson has been included into the test squad after the ban. The first test match will be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

Both India and England have faced each other in 126 test matches till now, India I have 129 matches while England have been The upper hand with 48 matches. While 49 games have been ended in a draw. India has not done very well England but has a decent record in Nottingham. The team India have played for test matches at this venue and have  won 2 games and one game has been ended in a draw. The last tour of England ,India beat the hosts by 203 runs. This was The lone victory on that tour.

Both Virat Kohli and Joe Root are on the verge to create history. Kohli has won 36 test matches as Captain and if India wins the first test, he will surpass Clive Lloyd and will become the fourth most successful test captain.

Joe Root will become the the most successful test captain for the team England if if they manage to beat India in the first test Joe Root will pass Michael Vaughan.

The role of the pitch has always been important in the Test Cricket. The pitch has always plays as a deciding factor. The Nottingham pitch has always been regarded as a good batting surface. The team who wins the toss will choose to bat first and will try to put a huge  total in the first innings. The conditions in England have always favored the seam bowling. The Nottingham pitch will also favor the spinners from day 3 onwards. It will be an fierce contest between the bat and ball.

Before the test series ,the team India has faced two injury concerns. Shubman Gill and Washington Sundar have been ruled out from the five match test series in England. Washington Sundar was injured in a practice game while Shubman Gill was ruled out during practice session. Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav are likely to be included in the test squad for the the test series.

However, there are two things in which we can analyze the weightage of both the teams, if you talk about England then they are surely the favorites as they have the home conditions talking about Indian Team the advantage is that they are much fresher as they don’t have any commitments prior this series.
