The Indian team has released leading fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat ahead of the second Test against Australia. The All India Senior Selection Committee, in consultation with the Indian team management, decided to release Unadkat.

The second Test of the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia will be played at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi.

Jaydev Unadkat will now join the Saurashtra team, which has entered the finals of the Ranji Trophy. The Ranji Trophy final between Saurashtra and Bengal will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata from February 16.

Let us tell you that Jaydev Unadkat had returned to the Indian Test team after a long gap of 12 years. He got a chance to play in the second Test against Bangladesh. Jaydev Unadkat was included in the Indian squad for the first two Tests against Australia, but did not get a chance to play in the first Test at Nagpur.

The Indian team had expressed confidence in the pair of Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj in the first test and there is little hope of change in India’s playing 11 in the second test as well. This is the reason why it has been decided to release Jaydev Unadkat from the second test.

The second Test between India and Australia will be played in New Delhi from 17 February. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team won the first Test by an innings and 132 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.
