Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar is back on his feet and raring to make a strong comeback into the national cricket team. After suffering a hamstring injury during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, which hindered his campaign with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Chahar is now in prime fitness and ready to seize every opportunity that comes his way.

In an interview with ANI, Chahar expressed his determination, stating, “I am fit now. Whichever tournaments I get to play, like the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, I would try to do well in them. That is all I can control as a player. We cannot decide anything else as players. My mindset is to do well in every chance I get.”

Chahar’s enthusiasm to excel is palpable, and his stats speak volumes about his potential. In the 13 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) he has played for India, he has scored 203 runs in nine innings, including two fifties, and has scalped 16 crucial wickets.

In the shorter format, T20Is, he boasts an impressive record of 29 wickets in 24 matches, including a stunning performance that etched his name in the record books with figures of 6/7 – the highest bowling figures by an Indian bowler in T20Is.

When asked about India’s prospects in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup, Chahar exuded confidence, saying, “We won last time when it was held in India. Players know the conditions and pitches well and enjoy a home advantage. I cannot predict the top four teams since all teams are good.”

Beyond cricket, Deepak Chahar is diversifying his portfolio and recently launched his sportswear and nutrition brand, DNine. The brand offers a range of sportswear products, including shirts, shoes, and bags, catering to the needs of athletes and sports enthusiasts.

Chahar’s last international appearance for India was in December 2022 against Bangladesh. Throughout his IPL career, spanning 73 matches for Rajasthan Royals, the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant, and CSK, he has been a consistent wicket-taker, amassing 72 wickets. In the 2023 IPL season, he showcased his prowess by taking 13 wickets in 10 matches, with his best bowling figures being 3/22.

As Deepak Chahar sets his sights on a successful return to international cricket, fans eagerly anticipate his remarkable performances, hoping to witness more records being shattered and wickets tumbling in his wake.
