The Board of Control for cricket in India on Saturday announced that all the Domestic Tournament have been suspended untill further notice.
“In view of the ongoing Corona Virus (COVID-19) outbreak, the BCCI on March 14th announced that matches of the Paytm Irani cup, Senior Women One day Knockouts, Vizzy Trophy, Senior One day Challenger Trophy, Women’s Under-19 T20 league, Women’s Under-19 T20 challenger Trophy have been put on hold till the further notice”, Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, said in a statement.
This probably meant that the blue Riband Irani Cup match between Ranji Trophy champions, Saurashtra and the Rest of India will face more delay. Positive cases of the Corona virus are on the rise in India with the government taking all the necessary steps to control the spread of the virus.
BCCI had already announced that the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League has been postponed. The Cash Rich IPL 2020 will now start from April 15. BCCI had also called off the two matches of the India versus South Africa ODI series.
