According to ESPN Cricinfo, after the initial impasse, both the BCCI and the PCB could quickly agree on a proposal in which both the teams can play their tournament matches against each other outside Pakistan.

While the overseas venue is yet to be confirmed, UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka and even England are possible contenders to host the five matches including at least two India-Pakistan fixtures.

Pakistan and India are in the same group

It is worth mentioning that India and Pakistan have been clubbed together with 6 nations in the Asia Cup in the 50-over format to be held in September this year. Apart from these two, there will be a qualifier team in this group.

At the same time, the teams of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are included in the second group. A total of 13 matches will be played in 13 days including the final of Asia Cup 2023. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 4 and the top two teams will then compete in the finals. There is a possibility of three matches between India and Pakistan.
