Former Indian Pacer Ajit Agarkar looks all set to become the new Head of the Senior Men’s Team selection Committee. As per the sources, the name of former veteran has already been finalized by the board officials for this job. The former Pro has represented Indian Team in 26 Tests, 191 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Ajit Agarkar holds a record of having 288 ODI wickets only behind Anil Kumble, and Javagal Srinath.

Agarkar who played most of his career under the current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, has an earlier experience of selecting the Mumbai Team at first class level. He will also bring in his wealth of experience in the International Cricket  with him. Earlier Laxman Shivaramankrishnan was seen as the front-runner for the post but with Agarkar applying on the last minutes, had completely turned the tide and now Agarkar’s announcement as the head of the selection committee just seem to be a formality.
