As per the reports, BCCI has given clearance to the CVC capital based Ahmedabad franchise and a letter of intent ahead of mega auctions of the 2022 season of the IPL.
CVC Capitals partners purchase Ahmedabad franchise for ₹5625 crores while RP Sanjiv Goenka group bagged the Lucknow franchise for whooping ₹7090 crores.

RP Sanjeev Goenka group immediately received the Letter of Intent but CVC’s clearance was delayed after questions were raised about the company’s relations with the betting firms . After all the negotiations between the Company and BCCI, the stage is set for the mega auctions. Now the auctions have been shifted to the second week of February.
According to sources, the Indian middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer is likely to lead the Ahmedabad franchise in the upcoming edition of the IPL. But now some reports suggest that Indian all rounder, Hardik Pandya might get the opportunity to lead the Ahmedabad Franchise for IPL-2022. He has been on the sidelines since the T20 World Cup in UAE due to his poor fitness and bad performances. Indian selectors are trying to fill his spot and giving chances to Venkatesh Iyer and Shardul Thakur . He has no earlier experience of captaincy at any stage.
